Part 1 Part 2

Most people know that I am mentally ill.  In hospitals, I always make sure the nurse injects me with used needles, as I do not trust the new ones.  To prove that I am unstable, I decided to visit New York for a weekend.  Since I live in Tokyo, that is some distance to travel for three days in the big apple.  By the way, the picture is of Rockefeller Centre.

Ground Zero was somewhat of a disappointment.  It is simply a big construction site, but I guess it would be kind of foolish to expect planes to be flying into buildings on a regular basis.  After all, that would prove way too expensive in the long run.

When in New York, I always make sure to stop by Central Park.  This time, I was raped by three homeless people and a parrot.  There is a first for everything, as they say. Following my trip to Liverpool earlier this year, I thought it would be appropriate to pay my respects to John Lennon's memorial in Central Park.  I bought flowers for a couple of thousand dollars, then I got hungry and ate them.  Someone else actually decorated the stone circle.

Dan strongly asked me to emphasize that he is making a "janhoo" face in this picture, and I must say he has talent.  The view from his apartment is fabulous, for not to mention the vertical fall down to the street below.  If you believe you are a failure and want to end it, jumping out of Dan's apartment will at least ensure that you reach one goal in your life. Cristina came up with the excellent idea of going cruising on the Hudson River.  We jumped on a yacht and sailed around for a couple of hours.  But do not worry, there is no actual physical activity involved.  There are people that sail for you.  After getting back to land, we went for a nice swim.  Finally, some nice Americans offered me some fresh drinking water straight from the river.  It tasted a bit strange, must be all the minerals.

The statue became famous in one of the Ghostbusters movies.  In the movie, she was walking around and going all bananas.  Trust me, she is much less interesting in real life.  However, there were quite a few tourists gathered around the statue waiting for something to happen. If it looks like a party, it is likely to be a party.  You might ask why I would want to eat Japanese food in New York, but a better question would be why I would want to eat American food anywhere.  The alternative would have been Indian, but we all know how messy things can get with curry flying all over the place.
